My 83 yo mother who is neither American, nor ever lived in the US swore like a sailor yesterday when I told her that the center may well be demolished.
She described being in the kitchen washing dishes when the assassination was announced on the radio. That it was like being punched in the chest.

Americans missing the forest for the trees and having meltdowns in the QPs and replies over a Canadian reporter using "mandate" in the Canadian context, for a Canadian audience, is just astounding levels of proving Max's point.
This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate.
