Bizarre thing that happened in your assembly:Our primary head teacher gave an assembly on the history of the slave trade. She said “When I look at all of these beautiful historic buildings in Bristol, I remind myself that if it wasn’t for slavery they wouldn't exist”. I was 8 and even I was appalled
Bizarre things that happened in your assembly: each Friday a different teacher spoke on their topic of choice. One day an ancient English teacher overran by HALF AN HOUR, eating almost the whole first lesson. But I was late that day, so I was on my own thinking there'd been some sort of apocalypse.

Do you know what makes this Clavicular 🍇 charge even more messed up? He’s spoken about how his drug use has made him impotent (despite also bragging about all the sex he has), and I can totally see his lawyer citing that in his defence.

Went to a musician’s meet up today. Mentioned I’m featuring at a beatmakers event next Friday. Lovely American guy I’d never met before asked for the details and immediately booked tickets for him and his girlfriend. I later found out he‘s in a band with two trans people which is awesome

I’ve seen posts and comments defending Steven Kolb for assaulting PETA protestors at NYFW. They were using the same excuses Reform members used when women were assaulted at their conference. Yes, PETA are a problematic organisation, but that’s no excuse for violence.

Watched Les Diaboliques last night. I don’t think I’d even heard of it until they mentioned it on the Psycho episode of What Went Wrong, but it‘s so good! Can anyone recommend any similar films I may not have seen? (I think I’ll skip the Sharon Stone remake)

So I’ve been booked for a gig in York, and a workshop in London at 11am the following morning. The gig includes paid accommodation and travel. If I head back after the gig I’d have to get the 11pm train, then get the bus home in the early hours of the morning. If I stay over, I risk train delays

Here he is claiming he’s ”on the left” and has “strong anti-racist views”. I told him if that were true he would be fighting against racism, not defending and enabling it.

I use a walking stick. A man just deliberately pushed in front of me (as in physically shoved past me) when we were both trying to get off a crowded train. My stick ended up landing on his foot because it was in my way. I don’t really believe in karma, but it was satisfying.

I’m heartbroken by the news about Dolly Parton. I know she was 80 years old and was unwell, but she was one of those celebrities who seemed immortal. She used her talent and her platform to do so much good in the world. I hope more will learn from her example.

When I was 8 or 9, we had a film crew come into our school and interview us in groups of 3. The man asked us “who’s looking forward to becoming a grown up?” The two boys excitedly answered “me!“ I made an awkward face, and said “not really because I’m confused about things like mortgage rates“
