As wildfires continue across Washington, it’s critical for your health to reduce exposure to smoke. The good news is that we’re seeing cleaner ocean air arrive around Bellingham and Everett. However, for much of the state, smoke will hang on across the Cascades for another couple of days.

I recently narrated the story of the Duwamish River cleanup in a new documentary series, 'Seattle: A History in Short Stories.' The Duwamish River is at the heart of Seattle, and I was proud to help tell the history of that area and the work that’s being done to restore it.

Washington’s greenhouse gas emissions are moving in the right direction, but we need to pick up the pace. Meeting the state’s emission limits will take sustained focus, accelerated progress, and strong collaboration across sectors.
