I’m finding a difficulty about my dedicated “editing phase” is it feels impossible to have a tangible sense of progress. It’s not word count per day- so what is it? #writing #writingcommunity

I’m currently at that stage of writing where I’m forcing myself NOT to go back and line edit. I’m so close to finishing my first draft and line editing is procrastination at this point… #writing #writingcommunity

But this is how it started - because the guy who owned this thing, Hammond, was rich. Like filthy rich. And he was impressed with my work cuz I did some other things like tune the pistons that other mechs are too lazy to do because they are just punching hours to bring home the meat and potatoes.

His eyes quickly scanned the list. “Samantha?” He took a quick look at me, his jaw set with discomfort clear on his face. “Er... Sam?” I could have rolled my eyes. Yeah, he noticed my head was head shaved and that I wearing a wife beater. “Samantha.” I said.

Wind chimes were an understatement. The chimes decorated every opportunity of the house and yard. There was one huge set in the garden that she imagined sounded like huge bells. Inside, small ones hung in the doorways, copper and glass. The house smelled of something dried and herbal #Witches #WLW

She kept thinking about a house she'd never been inside, the woman and cat she'd seen in the garden, and the way the smoke had drifted through the dark like it had a mind of its own. #WitchyFantasy #WLW #SmallTownRomance

The saddle slipped. An arm caught her and pulled her up. The rider’s cowboy hat tipped back and Ann forgot about the horse.
Her rescuer was a woman. Sun-dark skin and an easy smile. She looked at her like she was something worth looking at, which surfaced feelings Ann didn’t know how to cope with.

In my teens I learned my heart was better closed because people were too self-serving to handle mine. In my twenties, I met her. A piece of me opened to find that there were hurts so deep that it served no one to keep pieces of me locked away. In my thirties, I discovered that that hurt gets louder.
