16th consecutive day testing positive following short, precaution-filled trip out of state. Symptoms relatively mild but persistent, semi-isolating due to family member at high risk. Don’t buy the “it’s over” wishful thinking and loosening of mask mandates; be careful out there.

Paper: "Although the techniques proposed in this article focus on the one-dimensional problem, their principles can be easily extended to multiple dimensions."

This series, wherein the son of Dennis Davis, Bowie's drummer in the mid-to-late 70's, interviews Tony Visconti about his Dad, is great. This episode, featuring some fantastic isolated drum tracks, is gold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gCUBRFkvvU

Wow - source code to Defender! As a kid, one of my first non-trivial programs was a Defender-inspired game that ran on early UNIX + VT100. So many days trying to get smooth side scrolling and decent looking ASCII explosions working… https://github.com/mwenge/defender

Still amazed at how far a 10W signal through a thin wire in your attic can travel.

Driving family & dog to check out Xmas lights display. As we arrive, dog pukes up 2 apparently-purloined sticks of butter, wrappers and all, into youngest’s lap. Bail out of car, & kid takes off barf-covered pants. To the surprise of all, seems he’s gone commando. Merry Xmas!

Lugging a bin of busted construction toys and an old-school analog fighting game to storage, I realized I was carrying a Box of Broken Rokenbok and Rockem Sockem Robots.

Old Man Self-Own: getting cranky about some neighbor playing music too loudly, only to realize it’s the J&MC playing a live outdoor set a few blocks away.

TFW the freeware disk cloner you downloaded is chugging away on your active install and pieces of the OS start to fail in strange ways and in a horrifying moment of clarity you hit the reset switch, but it's too late.
