@zalisteggall.bsky.social Loved your riposte to @davidspeers.bsky.social that instead of independents acting more like a party, party parliamentarians should act more like indies eg cross the floor.
BUT We’ve been lucky. There’s not been an anti-abortionist masquerading as a progressive independent.

@janfran.bsky.social I’ve just finished your excellent Conspiracy podcast. It’s dawned on me that the 30 year cabinet paper release for Sept ‘97 to April ‘98 will coincide with the NEXT election.

@peteramartin.bsky.social I’m enjoying your synthesis of the economic, market & political implications of Trump’s tariffs.

Have you more on following a product such as wine which may have the 10% first. Then Aust importers have to use a US trade gate keeper, distributer & retailers adding up to 25%

@peteramartin.bsky.social

Do you agree that Trump’s tariffs are a simple calculation converting country to country deficit and halving it, with an arbitrary floor of 10% for countries like Australia with a surplus of US and only calculating goods not services?

James Surowiecki on X: "Just figured out where these fake tariff rates come from. They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did. Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us. So we" / X

@6newsau.bsky.social I wonder why you still post first and seemingly more often on X than here?

Is there a reliable app that helps simultaneously post?

I was hoping that X would die and those who have an account on 🦋 would post there first to assist in starving X of content.

Eg news of the hiker

This was a terrific series and is well worth a listen.

(And I don't just say that because I was interview on episode 6!)
Three years ago, we produced an eight-part If You're Listening series about Australia's energy debate - past, present and future. Not that many people listened to it.
Looking at the coming Australian election campaign, it's just as relevant now as it was in 2022. www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

@clareoneilmp.bsky.social In Canberra, some suburbs were more than 30% public housing - Ainslie & Waramanga are examples. They and other suburbs had duplexes - two dwellings, separate title for large families. So if you had 10 kids you had two houses which could later be reallocated to 2 families.
