OPCs are admittedly controversial. Done poorly, they simply enable substance abuse without helping people to actually start to turn their lives around. For all intents and purposes, enacting a true Medicare For All kind of system would bring about a scenario in which any private provision of care would not be allowed. That is not the right direction to be going in.
