Life-long Democrat and proud of it
The 1937 attack on “court-packing” was led by the business class manipulators of public opinion who did not want the anti-New Dealer SC losing its ability to prevent additional progressive labor and social safety net programs from becoming law. 90 years later, nothing has changed.

No changes of any consequence will come out of the next Congress if controlled by the Democratics - which of course will be a major victory for us. While we will have to suffer for 2 more years with what we have now, we won’t have any more MAGA judges and other MAGA crap shoved down our throats.

I can understand polls where a small % of dems have conservative views on abortion rights, marriage equality and other social issues, but any dem % > 0 on polls regarding Trump’s overall favorability or job approval has to call into question the filtering being done by the pollster. No f*ing way!

I suggest we ignore Fetterman’s wackiness for the next two years and get rid of him in 2028. In the meantime, we may very well need his vote to control the Senate and I see no benefit to pissing him off. Of course, if we do not win enough seats to control the Senate, then f’ck him.

I asked Google AI to explain how the debt went from less than $1T under Carter to 40T now - it cited the three earlier tax cuts by Reagan, Bush Jr and Trump I as well as the Bush Jr wars and bank bailout as the major self-inflicted and avoidable reasons. The cliff is in sight and Trump is fiddling.

It’s depressing to think where we are now and where we’d be if we had reelected Carter in 1980 or elected Gore in 2000 or Clinton in 2016 or Harris in 2024. All obviously better choices for working and middle class families yet we can’t help but screw ourselves over again and again - so f’ing sad.

With all the corruption scandals and narcissistic, demented outbursts attributable to the eternally embarrassing WH occupant, you would think POLITICO and CNN could find something negative about Trump to lead off with more than once a week - if that.

More like Nero or Caligula? Either way, a permanent and ugly stain on the reputation of the U.S.A.

If you look at the content of Trumpian bills passed by the Republican House that died in the Senate due the filibuster, it is understandable why Senators of both parties are reluctant to do away with it. Passing them would be disastrous for the Republican Party but far more so for the country.

I know this has been pointed out over and over again, but the last NYT poll showing 3% of Harris voters approving of Trump is just so hard to believe that you wonder if the methodology for the screening of respondents needs a complete overhaul.

Did anyone else notice on election night that when Kornacki was going over Trump’s Georgia vote in the rural counties, there was a consistent 10% bump from 2020 and 2024 - seemed almost prearranged.
May 23, 2026 at 6:40 AM
There are some people who voted for Trump because his policies work for them financially - admittedly a significant voting rationale on the left as well. What I’ll never understand is the huge number of Trump voters who screwed themselves over royally in order to hurt others. So frigging stupid.

When we start seeing “whites only” signs start popping up again thanks to SCOTUS, just remember that none of this shit would be happening if our voters had gotten off their asses and voted for Hillary. Anybody paying attention could see Trump was a catastrophe just waiting for the chance to happen.

Thank you Virginia Democratic lawmakers and Governor Spanberger for taking the risk and allowing us to fight back.

Thank you President Obama for your crucial support - it probably made all the difference.

It is a beautiful day in the Old Dominion.

I’ve been paying attention since 1961 and i can probably count on one hand the number of corrupt cabinet members who served between then and the Biden administration. Even the cabinet in Trump’s first term was not corrupt. How did the Repugs allow this fiasco to happen? Vile to the core.

I’m guessing every eligible Virginian on Bluesky has already cast a ‘YES’ vote in the April 21st election. However, if you know someone who is registered to vote but is usually not very motivated, make a call. Winning this is one more crucial step on the road to recovery.

We desperately need some constitutional amendments ASAP if we have any chance of restoring faith in our government. 1) No convicted felon shall be allowed to run for federal office or be appointed by the President to any office.

If Trump makes it to 2029, the last thing he will do in office, after running just one more insider trading scam, is issue pardons for himself, everyone in his family and all the fellow crooks he intends to hobnob with down in Florida. The other crooks he allowed to share in the loot will be SOL.
March 28, 2026 at 10:49 AM
I may be reading too much into this but my avid Trump supporting in-laws seem to be a lot less vocal in their cultist adoration since the start of the war. My brother-in-law counts his pennies and will drive for an hour looking for the cheapest gas. The huge price hike must be pissing him off.
March 27, 2026 at 6:41 AM
What are the chances that anyone in the Trump administration will investigate the CNBC report that a surge in oil and stock market futures trading occurred a few minutes before the Trump ‘we’re in talks’ announcement?

My money is on zero.
March 24, 2026 at 6:28 AM
So we kill their revered leader and a number of other high level officials and they know he’s in a panic due to collapsing poll numbers - why would they concede anything to him now? These “talks” will probably result in Trump’ unconditional surrender to Iran. Why would they even let him save face?
March 23, 2026 at 11:58 AM
So it appears that the price of oil and the mood on Wall Street are in lockstep right now. How much of our money do you think the Treasury is gambling on oil futures to keep the prices down and the DJIA from crashing?
March 17, 2026 at 3:10 PM
Trump spews maniacal threats against IRAN in a late night rant on Truth Social and the Dow Jone futures immediately crashed and oil futures shot up. There is every reason to believe the timing of this and all of his rants are well coordinated with insider trading.
