This is an engaging, well-explained overview of new standardized approaches driving Canmore's transportation modal shift. The mountain town deserves every acknowledgement of its work and the patterns of behaviour that shape how people interact with the street, their surroundings, and each other.
Canmore is doing what most North American cities won't. They are doing the hard things that make a more livable community!

the seat swings from UCP +13.5 in 2023 to NDP +3.6. That's a 17-point swing in a riding that had gone conservative in ten of eleven elections, five weeks before the referendum.

The other day an "influencer" suggested immigrants be sent away b/c what they pay in income tax does not cover the cost of Alberta govt expenditures. Here's a graph of provincial program spending versus income tax revenue. No Albertan pays in income tax anywhere near the cost of public services.

The conspiracy theories are driving me nuts 😑 it’s underfunding and inexperience with this size of vote; NOT some campaign to undermine our world class elections system. The UCP want you to not vote because not voting NO to this bs is the same as a yes! #abpoli

I would bet the turnout from separatists is more like 95%, they are loud and trying to create a white-christian state, so they aren't going to stay home. I will be voting no to the nine and for staying in Canada. I left Quebec because of separatist bullshit, I don't want to leave here

Everyone's talking about how the Alberta referendum will be all about *turnout*.

But how, exactly, would different turnout rates among separation supporters vs. stay-in-Canada supporters affect the outcome?

I built a tool where you can play with the numbers and see for yourself:
The smaller side can win a referendum — or at least make it close
A side that's behind in the polls can still win if the other side stays home. Try it with the Alberta separation vote.
