I can't stop thinking how wrong the tech bros have understood creativity and creators. Or even just having hobbies.

A lot of game devs nowadays be like "oh yea, this AI art is only a placeholder graphic"

My arse. If it was a placeholder graphic, you'd have drawn it up in MS-fucking-paint and made it look as shitty as possible so you KNOW to replace it in the final game.

Aika from “I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl” at three different stages in her life. Child Aika is in the foreground, arms spread and smiling. She wears a blue oversized two toned t-shirt and her hair is all black. Behind her is 13 year old Aika in her magical girl from with her hands clasped and a smile on her face. She is completely blonde with long locs. In the background, current day 15 year old Aika faces away from camera with a tired, over it expression. Her hair is now blonde on top and and black on the bottom

Flower sheep 💐🐑 #art
A collection of illustrations featuring various breeds of sheep, including gute, valais blacknose, and merino. They are all either wearing flowers on their wooly coats or eating them, enjoying the company of butterflies. They're having a lovely time out together!

wip, thank u star fox command
WIP lineart of Krystal from Star Fox sitting in a chair looking up at someone cropped out (Wolf O'Donnell) that's speaking to her. She looks fond of the person. The speech bubble above her for the person off screen (Wolf) talking is slightly cut-off but it reads "It was a barrel of laughs, Princess!" (dialogue from Wolf in Star Fox Command when Krystal leaves Star Wolf in one of the endings) Yeah, this is meant to be shippy art, what else is expected of me? Nothing.

In this week’s newsletter, Michael talks about early influences and his approach to illustration in the conclusion of this 3-part interview from 1982.

Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger, stares contemplatively across the sea as waves gently lap the shore. Footprints can be seen in the damp sand leading to where he sits, pistol unstrapped at his hip and bedroll at his side. The sun hangs low but intense, blazing a line of orange across the horizon. Over a low stretch of wispy clouds, the silhouette of an asymmetrical tower rises dream-like in the sky. Odd projections mark the sides while spires of varying height sit atop the peak like chaotic crenelations.

THE DIVINING HEART (2005)

Acrylic on Canvas - 36" x 24"

"Stepping stones" of ammonite fossils represent the lessons of history and are the only havens of safety for the figure in the foreground. #art
A dark haired beauty stands on a spiral fossil that rises barely above the surface of shallow water. A path of these ammonite stepping stone meanders out across placid water past a natural breakwater of rocks but doesn't quite reach the horizon. She doesn't appear to notice the path forward; she's stopped to admire a red glass heart that dangles from a cord. Her eyes aren't fixed on it though as her thoughts retreat inward. The pure white cloth draping her body spills down to reveal the bare skin of her back.

LORE OF THE WITCH WORLD (1979)
Watercolor on Watercolor Board

Early in my career I had the privilege of being assigned covers for many established authors. That list, of course, included Andre Norton, one of the grand dames of science fiction.

#bookssky #art 🪐📚
Standing on a snowy mountain outcrop, a woman underdressed in fur cloak and short skirt stands with blonde hair blowing behind her in the chill breeze. The bare skin of her back is revealed as the heavy cloak billows with a gust. Resting across her lower back, she holds a spear with gloved hands. Her booted feet are spread wide. In profile, she stares off panel left with the line of her eyes crossing a pristine white castle rising from a mountain peak in the distance.

welcome back to the gun show 💪 #starfox
Various colored fanarts of Fox McCloud based on panels of the Farewell, Beloved Falco official manga from 2002 that came out as a prequel to Star Fox Adventures. Top (viewer's) right Fox is on one knee and firing his blaster out a door with his scarf flowing behind him majestically. Bottom (viewer's) right Fox is on one knee in a more crouched position as if he's hiding and observing his surroundings to prepare to make his next move, holding his blaster up close to himself. Bottom (viewer's) left Fox is facing forward with a shocked expression and his scarf is flowing beside him majestically. While not a full body view like the previous two mentioned Fox's, this Fox appears to be also on a knee/crouched with his arm in front of him for balance. Top (viewer's) left Fox is facing up towards the top left corner with a fist clenched to his side, ready to make his next move as he yells/is shocked (his mouth is open)
