He was never gonna cancel the shows, come on. That was a bluff. Zero chance they willingly give up millions of dollars in one night.
He could have and then everyone who bought tickets and flights and hotels and Airbnbs and took PTO and yadyada would be out of luck and it's not like they have fuck you money either. So I don't blame Ed, it sucks that Bob Kraft sucks but that's not really his problem

Right. This idea that "we have to wait for a Ben Johnson-type to become available" is just not something I agree with. McCarthy wasn't a hot candidate and look at what he did in GB.

Sadly, that would not have been an option. They had two choices - extend him long-term or he would've gone somewhere else. And maybe he would've been good somewhere else too, but it seemed like the right time to take that risk.
Don’t extend LaFleur then, give him the last year of his deal to prove it.

But I really disagree there. There were good candidates. Minter was a good candidate, Stefanski won COTY in Cleveland! There were options for Green Bay.
You can't really blame Policy for that thinking, nor could you really fault thinking Lafleur was good enough when the rest of the coaching crop was pretty bare.

Unfortunately, the people running the organization, namely Ed Policy, weren't willing to risk good for great when they could go from good to terrible. They're perfectly comfortable being good. Everyone makes a lot of money when they're good.
Felt like a wasted year when we didn’t get rid of him. Feels like that’s still the case. Like how many times are we going to watch the same fucking movie
