Nice wader action at Scaling Dam past couple of days with ruff, dunlin, redshank, & common sandpiper all showing well in front of hide. Two meadow pipits today also nice to see, a challenge to initially pick out until they moved. @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social

Golden plover at Margrove this evening. Very rare to see one there, possibly even rarer - I'm no expert at all but this bird seems to be showing traits of Pacific golden plover with its incredibly long legs & coarsely notched tail. Chinese character moth in kitchen last night. Though common & widespread it's actually the first I've ever seen. Famous for resting on branches & looking like a bird dropping so as to avoid predation. Remarkably beautiful up close. @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social

Thought I'd hit patch gold with a little gull at Margrove this afternoon when I first saw this dinky bird. Closer views showed it to be a very small juv black-headed gull. Brief excitement fun though. LBBG beside me & fresh painted lady nice to see. @teesbirds.bsky.social @nybirdnews.bsky.social
