My column as we gear up for the most anticipated Canadiens season in decades.

Todd: With grit and great expectations, Canadiens are knocking on Lord Stanley's door
With Panthers and Leafs likely back in the mix, I’m picking Habs to finish second in Atlantic, third in East.

Can’t get any more Montreal last night than a big crowd at the @mtljazzfestival for Patrick Watson. One more day tonight. I’ve had a good experience, I’ve enjoyed every minute out there.

My column on the tragically premature death of Claude Lemieux, who simply won almost everywhere he went.

Todd: Claude Lemieux knew what it took to win
Lemieux, who died Thursday, was never a superstar, but the Stanley Cup seemed to follow him around, Jack Todd writes.

How are you feeling about Team Canada 🇨🇦 before the Olympic gold medal final🥇?

Trying to remember the last time Montrealers had to deal with a 8am final start time. Thinking 2002 World Cup final. Or 2014 Gold medal game (I think it was at 9am).

How I’m coping with 2026 so far: listening to a lot of Wolf Parade and the last David Bowie album. So basically reliving 2006 and 2016 instead.

Didn't think the Habs would go after Danault. Also didn't think he could be acquired for a second-rounder – but Kent Hughes sets his price. What he gets:
1) Relief for Suzuki on the PK, etc.
2) Fewer defensive breakdowns.
3) A guy who spent more than 4 seasons playing with Anze Kopitar.
I like it.
