"Good progressive policy will destroy reactionary parties" sounds nice in theory. In practice, the Great Society was followed by 5 Republican wins (three of them landslides) and one narrow one by a right-of-Clinton Democrat in the next 6 cycles
you can see that this is just strictly false in essentially every country with a multiparty parliamentary democracy
