Red Dwarf: Titan by @andrewmarshall.bsky.social and the late and ever so great Rob Grant, read by the amazing Chris Barrie. Pretty easy review, because Red Dwarf was my youthful intro to absurdism. Torrents of OTT ludicrous insults, capturing what it means to be a smeghead.

I read 'These Bright and Perilous Designs' by @feliciafm.bsky.social. A great, short, prosaic stream of consciousness concerning the ancient Greek pantheon in the not too distant future. I enjoyed it and I wrote a review:

I read Uprooted by @naominovik.bsky.social. Based around a trad polish folk tale, the sheer amount of death in this book, offset by the way the magic of life curls through everything, was fascinating. A powerful yet grounded main character invested strongly in her world. Highly recommend.

I read 'All things great are simple'. A transformative work based on the small loveable character 'Volly' from the #temeraire series by Naomi Novik. The fanfic, a writing prompt response, was written by user Lorata. I absolutely love Volly, and this captured his affable charm beautifully. #booksky

I read the free short story 'Draki Twins' by Eileen Mueller and @ponderbooks.com and it was great. A really punchy action packed palate cleanser after the lengthy series' I've been enjoying. Teenage me would have loved the opportunity to read magic, shapeshifting, explosions and jeeps!

This summer I listened to Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir after watching the excellent movie. Some things were a little different, but not excessively so. I see why the changes were made for the movie. One of the few instances where the book and the film are equally as good. Fist my bump.

I've just finished reading the wonderful Temeraire series by @naominovik.bsky.social after my partner Sam listened through them last year. We're a dragon-positive household, and this fascinating series has made my lazy breakfasty mornings with the cat an absolute joy. Now to read about Volly's cow ❤️
