Oh so all of New York is one of those consensual non-consent parties that we were all horrified about in Silicon Valley last week. You pick up a drink, you’re agreeing to whatever sexual violation is done to you.

That seems like it should be changed immediately.
It can be difficult for New York prosecutors to bring rape charges in situations in which victims were voluntarily drinking or taking drugs and say they were too intoxicated to consent.

Advocates and legislators have been trying to change that.
Cornell rape allegations reignite debate over laws on intoxication and consent
About 20 states have laws that can make it difficult to prosecute sexual assault cases if accusers voluntarily drank or took drugs.

Democrats are seeing massive gains in some of the reddest areas of the country. But the party isn't seeing the same wave of support in blue and purple states.

A veteran election handicapper has dubbed the phenomenon as “the red undertow."

Read more from Mychael Schnell:
Democrats are making huge gains in Trump country. The battleground states are a different story.
Democrats have put a number of deep red states in play this November. But they haven't been able to put away Republicans in the more traditional battleground states.

Plaintiffs allege in the filing that agents had a practice of intimidating protesters and observers. They did this, the filing says, by doing drive-bys of the observers’ homes.

Never under any circumstances should taxpayers support private schools. Private schools (no matter what kind) hurt public schools. They concentrate disadvantaged, while concentrating privilege and a culture of exclusion.
Public money should not be used for private schools. Period.
