It took me a long time to figure out why so many biographies about Black musicians felt off…it is exactly this.
My number one rule about culture writing is that craft cannot compensate for contempt. If you hate the people, you cannot write about their culture.

This is an insane thing for a magazine that focuses on long form articles to promote let alone publish.
The thing of it is, it’s been a slow progress type of journey. Learning and working to do pull-ups when you’ve never done upper body work is a different game but we’re getting there.

My trainer asked if there were any exercises that I wanted to do, my instant answer was hip mobility. I want to be able to move around when I’m old.

The thing about goat meat is if you don’t properly clean it before you cook it then it smells terrible. Someone cooked this mean without a decent wash and now I have to smell it. I have no interest in eating it, I just want to air out the house.
