Hey #Canada,

As we are moving closer to Europe, we are going to have to get used to Eurovision. And trust me, you need to get used to it because its a big deal and it's not *really* about the singing.

Today's project is installing a ceiling fan.

I am not what you would consider 'handy', so this is an undertaking

My wife has just called me from Paris, where she is on vacation with her daughter.

I, on the other hand, am planning to take the dog out to take a shit.

Such is life 😅

watching your children make just plain *stupid* decisions in their life, against parental counselling, is so frustrating and just hurts.

They are adults and I can't stop them but I sure find it hard not to be really cranky about it.

Privatizing public airports is a good way of closing airports across Canada.

This is a public policy disaster in the making.
Selling public infrastructure to private firms is almost NEVER the answer.

What a trash decision, but no surprise from this neocon

JFC...we can send people to the moon but as a species, boy are we stupid.
May I remind everyone that there is currently NO cure for rabies.

May I also remind everyone there is absolutely NO scientific proof connecting ANY vaccine that we produce today with autism.

This is true regarding vaccination in both humans AND in dogs.

Vaccinate your pets please.

The history of the Cold War continues with a look at the development of Maoism as a philosophy, with its roots in Marxism-Leninism but influenced and adapted to deal with the agrarianism and traditionalism of China in the first half of the 20th Century.

Ranking being highly subjective of course, Dan has a great list here.

I would put Grossman in the top 3 along with Bulgakov. Zamyatin probably needs to make the list too but I'm not sure where.
Back in the day, I studied Russian language in university. (USA has a major/minor system; I minored in Russian). I read a LOT of Russian literature over the following years. Here’s my extremely opinionated ranking of Russian authors.

Hilux-R-Us...
The Houthi-aligned Bani Hashish tribes are massing in preparation to “liberate” the remaining Yemeni territory outside Houthi control. It’s a sea of Toyotas with mounted machine guns. I think this is what we should mean when we say Toyotathon from now on.

The running commentary on the channel is that every time I refer to H Kissinger, I call him "noted monster, Henry Kissinger".
