Some of the "pulpiest" #agathachristie paperbacks were those published by Avon (USA) in the late 1940s - early 1950s. These two examples are from 1951. I doubt Agatha ever saw them (fortunately) & I wonder what the purchasers thought they would read! #PulpFiction #pulp

One of my newest additions (a most generous gift from a recent house guest) to my collection is this fabulous c.1932 booklet for the Spanish screening of "Black Coffee" by #agathachristie - interestingly they dubbed the French film production not the British one. #filmmemorabilia #vintagepaperback

£27,001 sale price on eBay! ($36,000 US) - time to find your own tatty #agathachristie vintage book in desperate need of restoration! This 3rd edition Murder on the Orient Express (1934) had an identical jacket to the 1st edition to which, after restoring, it will soon be married no doubt.

I don't often comment on the abundant fake #agathachristie signatures that show up - but when the book was published in 2005 (29 years after she died) & the auction house states its been verified for authenticity & value it at $4,000-$8,000, it's too much to pass up! #FakeSignature

1930 The Mysterious Mr. Quin (1st UK edtn). As #agathachristie described Mr. Quin as "a man shown in a harlequin-coloured light that fell on him through a glass window" I thought this picture suitable! #firstedition #GoldenAge

Many covers of #agathachristie books are purposeful pastiches of famous artworks. My new articles provide insights as to why these images were likely chosen & how they enrich the covers. Full details at: www.collectingchristie.com/post/cover-p...

"Are you happy? If not, consult Mr. Parker Pyne". This #agathachristie US 1st edition from 1934 had a slightly different title than the British edition (Parker Pyne Investigates).Any favourite stories from the collection? #collectchristie #rarebooks #crimefiction #booksky #reading

The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest (c.1945) by #agathachristie from Vallancey Press. Features the great line re: #poirot "the tortured splendour of his famous moustaches." I love these little single wartime publications - unique and very collectible. #collectchristie

N or M? (1941 1st ed) by #agathachristie A great quote from this wartime Tommy & Tuppence novel: "Cut out the compliments," said Tuppence. "I'm admiring myself a good deal, so there's no need for you to chime in.” #firstedition #collectchristie

A 1950s programme for #agathachristie's most famous play. Note that on these early playbills the play's name wasn't shown - just an image of a mousetrap - making these unique collectibles! #theatre #themousetrap

1928 - The Mystery of the Blue Train by #agathachristie - 1st edtn w/ its wonderful period artwork. Notable Quote: “My name is Hercule #poirot,” he said quietly, “and I am probably the greatest detective in the world.”

Redbook magazine published 4 #agathaChristie novels from 1933 - 1967, incl. the slightly mistitled 'The Third Girl' with its very 60s photo montage. My new article on all these #vintagemagazines, w/ all the artwork is at: www.collectingchristie.com/post/agatha-...

The 1st play #agathachristie wrote was 'Black Coffee' (1930) & is a great read. The playscript was 1st published by Ashley in 1934. This is the 2nd printing from 1939 that was owned by Christie's theatrical agent L. E. (Leonard) Berman - a unique Christie collectible. #theatre #collectibles

Arguably one of the most successful writings by #agathachristie but perhaps read by very few fans? The playscript of The Mousetrap was 1st published in 1954 (shown here), but is still in print. I highly recommend reading her plays - after all she is the most successful female playwright of all time.

A couple of previously unseen studio photographs by Tom Adams that he staged to create his covers for #agathachristie Fontana paperbacks 'A Pocketful of Rye' (1966) and '4:50' from Paddington' (1967). #coverart #vintagepaperbacks

1924 - Poirot Investigates by #agathachristie - This collection had 11 short stories in the UK but 14 in the US. Why the difference? Did #sherlockholmes had something to do with it? My new article explores this collection in depth. Full details at: www.collectingchristie.com/post/poirot-...
