The tech that wowed us in the early days of 90s Silicon Valley was connectivity. Shit like email, access to the internet, shopping at places you couldn't drive to, etc. These were all things that the technology made possible. LLMs aren't doing anything a lazy human couldn't do on their own.
lots of replies asking about this so here are two solid use cases for AI:

1. LLMs are good at summarizing widely available information. Ask one to summarize a news story you aren't caught up on.

2. Girlfriend. Ask the AI to be your girlfriend.

Now you're well-informed and you have a girlfriend.
i am reasonably confident that i could figure out a way any person on Bluesky could use a $20 OpenAI or Claude subscription to improve some aspect of their life in fifteen minutes of talking through it, if they're willing to try in good faith

America hates women. You’ll never convince me otherwise.
"Women accounted for 100 percent of the decline in the labor force in July, according to a National Women’s Law Center analysis of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’s latest dismal jobs report.

Overall, the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July: Women lost 32,000 jobs, while men gained 9,000."
Trump’s Terrible July Jobs Numbers Only Hurt Women
And the number of women who have left the workforce since January is more than double the number of men.

We MUST flip the Senate, Pennsylvania!
Pennsylvania's GOP-controlled Senate just blocked a vote to raise the minimum wage to $15... on the 20th anniversary of the state's last wage hike, which means their minimum wage will stay at $7.25 for the time being.
