My partner's grandmother is the perfect example of you don't have to fully understand something to be respectful. She's a 'take no shit' sort of lady who says what she thinks. She also sends me cards for both mothers and fathers day, saying I do the work of both raising her grandkids.

I believe in restorative justice, and that people can change and grow and all that. It's sort of required that that be true, for the world that I want to be possible.
That being said, maybe those people shouldn't immediately be made the leaders of a movement.
