I LOVE Susan Sarandon!
Actress Susan Sarandon being arrested earlier today for protesting Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations. One is speaking out against genocide, one is committing it. One was arrested, one was not.

Today about 100 people took part in a mass trespass in the Prime Minister’s constituency.

There’s a right to roam over just 1% of Makerfield, & today the landowner proved our point for us: putting up fencing & calling the police.

@andyburnham.bsky.social - please open the door to the countryside!

I was pleased to see @righttoroam.bsky.social at the Wigan Digger's Festival yesterday.

Check out this super-cool artwork revealed on folding out one of their pamphlets. I've framed it and hung it.

Best of luck to everyone on the Makerfield Mass Trespass today.

Dozens of gas-burning power plants are being built across the country, solely to power data centers.

These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR.

We need a data center moratorium — now.

"Wealth tax: Billionaires have poured nearly $40mn into the campaign against a proposed 5 per cent levy on rich Californians."

They'll pay to fight tax. They won't pay tax.

Cat Hobbs talking sense as usual. Who is @andyburnham.bsky.social listening to, when it comes to how we manage our water?

I suspect it must be the same people Steve Reed was serving when he ruled out public control of our water in the 'independent' review of the water industry.
Water companies are trying to hike your water bills AGAIN. Privatisation is not affordable.

Andy Burnham must block these bill hikes. Let the water companies that can't survive without hiking our bills GO BUST.

Then we take them into public hands for nothing.

Is China's championing of open source AI, a specific attempt to pop America's dominantly proprietary AI bubble?

Once it pops it won't just be AI companies that suffer, the whole American economy will be hit, and the worlds.

That is a beautiful statement, for the beautiful game.

Infantino would sell us all down the river. He has to go.
The full statement from UEFA is remarkable. Members vow not to participate in FIFA competitions unless the entire proposal is scrapped and assurances are made it is gone for good.
