On BBC Radio 4, there's a documentary about my life and memory 'Unreliable Narrator'. I've had conflicted feelings about it. It's raw. But it ends well. Featuring a couple of new Constant Follower instrumental pieces. If you're interested in where the music comes from: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

SCOTTISH recording artist, and three times Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award nominee, Constant Follower, is the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary, Unreliable Narrator, which will air on 26 July as part of the Illuminated series. Constant Follower is led by songwriter, Stephen McAll, and this is his story. McAll lost his memory after an attack one night when walking home from his girlfriend's house in East Kilbride.

We're really happy to announce that the recording of the second album is done. So we thought we'd share some pics of us at our recent sessions in Beetroot Studios in Airdrie.
HUGE thanks also to the wonderful @constantfollower.bsky.social (Amy & McAll) who helped us out with some backing vocals.

Today a coalition of music organisations representing many thousands of artists and music workers has published a letter to BBC Radio Scotland.

Scotland’s music sector needs transparency, consultation and a clear strategy for how Scottish music will be supported.

Still processing those two lovely gigs over the weekend. Tolbooth Stirling and Cottiers, it was a pleasure to be back in these special venues and play some of our songs. Thank you to everyone who came out.

The end of February was marked by a gorgeous night at the Tolbooth in Stirling seeing @constantfollower.bsky.social. I'm still gathering my thoughts but it was a beautiful set from them and also from the lovely Lizabett Russu.

Where would 75% of Scottish bands you like be now if late-night BBC Radio Scotland radio they say they were first played in didn’t exist?

The BBC's decision today is affecting Scotland’s music tomorrow.

Creative communities form around a nucleus. A late-night BBC Radio Scotland play by Roddy Hart led to the funding for my first album. 41 people were paid for various jobs in the making.

The creative economy in Scotland needs these music discovery spaces. This is what we lose.
