pre-pandemic, i was out of town when a particular library card said I needed to go into the branch to re-authorize it. i was absolutely still eligible for that card, but even once i got home, it was going to be a pain in the ass to actually get to the branch in person.

the instacart shopper has refunded without replacement three out of three pork products. one of which is... just normal deli ham.

good thing i picked all-beef hot dogs. no one tell him what's in the pepperoni on the frozen pizza!

me: no, i'm aware there's a food safety issue with granola, so this is a HEALTH FOOD, mini oreos.

Love when Matthew adds a footnote for the autistic clients because they know what’s being thought real hard.

Trans kids are not a "contentious issue" and their rights aren’t up for debate.

Trans kids need to be loved and supported—not thrown under the bus to score political points.

There are many in public health who are actively working to be collaborators, as in “assisting the enemy”

Gregg is absolutely right. Oh, and btw since it’s under attack, this is why tenure is necessary & good. (Ranney, one of the collaborationists, is the dean of the Yale school of public health)

I was banned by BlueSky (then apparently unbanned) for calling for the trial & death penalty for Ralph de la Torre, former CEO of Steward Health Care, a man directly responsible for the deaths of disabled Americans. I stand by my analysis - the full writeup is here:

Apparently this platform has taken an official anti-death penalty stance, because they will suspend or ban users if they say that a specific person should be tried and executed for their crimes when that person has killed people.

So long as that person isn't an elected official, it seems.

Not gonna lie, I remain delighted that Bluesky management hates that the platform was immediately co-opted by artists and queers.

Anybody at @moderation.bsky.app want to try to explain why they suspended @matthewcort.land, ANOTHER of the most prominent people out here fighting for disabled and marginalized people? Like… are y'all planning to suspend/ban literally every disabled legal scholar/policy worker out here, orrrr…?

if someone removes you as a follower on insta but does not stop following you, is that more likely a sign that they're interested in stirring up drama or that they just didn't finish the job for whatever reason?
