Oxfordshire is facing a huge amount of development over the coming years — from new housing and employment sites to major infrastructure projects.

With this growth comes important questions about where development goes and how we protect our countryside, landscapes, wildlife and green spaces.

CPRE's new research shows that there's enough brownfield land over 8000 homes in Oxfordshire, around half of those already have planning permission. The government's 'brownfield-first' policy clearly isn't working.

Some serious questions over these proposals as they 1) are not genuinely affordable at 80% market rate, 2) wont serve local people (dealing instead with Oxford's unmet need) and 3) come at the expense of more green belt land.
