Thank you @charlieangus104.bsky.social for sharing this information and the email address of the Canadian Defence Minister. I have sent my email of concern.
Draganfly Drones is promoted as a Saskatoon success story. They are run out of Tampa, Florida with top Trump military appointees on the board. Don Jr is an investor.
The PM committed to building a Canadian supply chain for our defence.
This stinks.

STOP DON JR FROM GETTING A CUT OF CANADA’S MILITARY BUDGET
Don Jr. has his fingers in a Canadian military contract obtained through Saskatoon-based Dragonfly Technologies.

There are about 5500 BEVs in Nove Scotia. At $500/2 years, this levy will raise about $1.4M per year.

That’s not quite enough to pave 3 km of road.

Less than. 3. Kilometres.

But hey, on the plus side, we get to put the brakes on EV adoption, and stick it to those smug electric car-driving nerds!
#NovaScotia’s new tax on electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids comes into effect Oct. 1, but traditional hybrids — ones that aren't plugged in — are exempt.

Starting in October, electric vehicle owners will pay an additional $500 every two

Meanwhile a $250/yr tax increase on all of the ~200,000 property parcels within the HRM would lead to $50M annually, or about 100 km of road.

We can’t do that though because affordability.

Nothing else but a permanent monthly universal dividend will ever compensate us for all our work that went into training AI. There's no undoing what was done, and no policy focused only on a subset of the population is appropriate restitution. We all should benefit, whether you're displaced or not.
“Largest theft of labor in human history.” What a quote.
Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft.
Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Chained Echoes is really good so far. I'm only about 4 hours in and I'm already starting to care about these characters. The Overdrive system encourages the player to use combat skills they might otherwise ignore, and rewards them for doing so.

Digging it.

The US position on Cuba since Castro is entirely based on the greedy-rich’s fear of socialism (same as the uk). The idea of sharing wealth appals them. And their great fear is Americans finally understanding that socialism isn’t a dictatorship, ironically.
