Why I never let the dogs go in the water other than at low tide when we lived near Carkeek Park in Seattle.
There's a really shallow bottom there that goes out about 200 yards that gets covered with less than two feet of water at low tide. So hungry Orcas can't get close to shore.....or dogs.
