📖 Afgelopen week verscheen 𝗛𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗲𝗸𝗼𝗺𝘀𝘁.

In the light of #Ketikoti, tomorrow, I once took a seat in the back of a high school classroom in Accra to understand how (and why) the brutal history of #slavetrade is taught differently in #Ghana and the Netherlands.

PM Carney about an EU-Canada alliance:

“ Together, we are powerful because we have the capacity to act together. Combined, the population is more than twice that of the United States,” Carney said. “Our collective defense budget is twice that of China’s.”
‘A global rupture’: Carney calls for Canada-EU unity before G7 summit
Canada's prime minister has warned that the 'rules-based' global order is 'breaking down' amid superpower dominance.

Over the past few years I have been on the ground in #Ituri, as well as on the South Sudanese and Ugandan sides of the border. One of the key challenges in containing this #Ebola outbreak is the constant movement of armed groups across borders, while refugees seek safety in #Uganda.

The scale and coordination of the attacks sweeping across Mali 🇲🇱 is unprecedented, yet not surprising. And the collapse of the military junta (in the near future) is an outcome that cannot be ruled out.

In the 30s Europe tried fascism ahead of the US - which on realizing what it is and develops into, steered clear of it. Now things are the other way around.
We are at the point in history where Germany is having to lecture the US on the need to fight fascism.
