Backrooms hits hard when you’ve done after hours cleaning. For the last day, I’ve been thinking of all the weird locations I’ve worked. Strangely, I’m recalling smells.

Beer Bot ahoy!!! Another Dig Deep show, and another fun flyer to illustrate and design!

#DigDeep #robotart #BeerBot #transformers
This Transformers-inspired flyer is for The Argo in Milwaukee, WI, on October 9, with the door opening at 7 and the show at 8. Featuring Dig Deep and Billy Bronsted & the Loot. It features a Milwaukee Brewers colored yellow and blue robot opening his chest like a dying Optimus Prime; only this bot is full of bottles of beer! A Cybertron-like planet behind the Beer Bot in muted shades of golden-grey.

Without question, My Bloody Valentine (81) should meet the low bar of slasher trope lists, right? Right…? Close out 🪓Summer Slasher Camp 🔪 with this bloody fun recommendation by @cort-psyops.bsky.social from the podcast Cinema Psyops! Links below ⤵️

#slasher #mybloodyvalentine #movie #moviepodcast
Wooden camp sign with worn yellow paint. On the left it says Summer Slasher Camp with a crude skull with an arrow through it, a tent with a sun, and a tent with a moon. Below that is a canoe-shaped object with the text "Corrupted Youth Podcast" inside. On the right, there is a bloody axe embedded into the wood. It has the text Episode 109 MY BLOODY VALENTINE in the same worn yellow.

I love how this piece turned out! I had a fantastic time working on it, and it really came together in the end. A huge thank you to Dig Deep for reaching out to me for this gig - and for a local venue, no less!
A dark wizard wearing a purple robe with golden highlights, large horns and a patch of green lizard skin with smaller horns on the hood, is enchanting a banjo by means of greenish-yellow electricity emitted from his hand. A bejeweled purple frame with swirls, bat wing motifs, and other shapes twisting into each other surrounds the illustration. The top says "Bluegrass Black Friday" in arched blue text. The names Joseph Huber, Dig Deep, Kevin Troestler, and Artist at Large Sheilagh Dandy Lyon are being emitted from the banjo in 60s style text that matches the electric colors. Under the banjo is the text: November 27th High Noon Saloon, Madison, WI in red text.

I designed and illustrated fun flyers for Dig Deep and their amazing friends for shows that are now being announced. They're great examples that you don't need to use shitty AI for this stuff when so many talented, passionate folks are willing to do the work and deliver fantastic results!
Top spooky orange and yellow text reads: All Hallows' Eve at PABS. 10/30 Door 7 Show 8. There's a cackling witch stirring a smoking, bubbling cauldron of ghoulishly green goo. Within the goo, a list of performers appears in yellowish-green text, floating: Dig Deep, Kevin Troestler Band, and Fort Wilderness. No part of this art used AI and was made by a real artist!

I feel bad for the kids that were traumatized by Optimus Prime getting killed in the 86 movie. I was the kid that loved that the movie had stakes and the balls to finally kill characters. (Yeah, I know it was just a way to sell a new wave of toys and discontinue the old. Cool!)

Summer Slasher Camp goes to Italy for this totally mysterious giallo flick by Lamberto Bava! This was suggested by Pete from @gbbmnpodcast.bsky.social - will it meet our lazy slasher trope checklist standards?

🥵 It’s going to be one hot week! Thinking about heading out to the lake with some friends to cool off…
Yellow 80s car parked at a serene lake. In the distance, there’s a raft with a group of friends on it. Sure hope no floating puddle of black goo doesn’t show up to ingest them!

We had fun talking about The Core…

Hop in a purple turd ship and join us as we venture into The Core! This failed attempt at a blockbuster has quite a reputation, but will it entertain us? Links below ⤵️

#moviepodcast #thecore #cheesymovie
Corrupted Youth Podcast promo image featuring a still from the movie The Core. The still shows Aaron Eckhart as Joshua Keyes, pointing to half an apple that was made to look like a peach because the crew had slapped a peach pit into it. The podcast guys inserted a picture in the background that says Virgil at the top, with a crude drawing of a butt pooping a long purple turd, because the ship that travels to the planet's core in the movie does indeed look like a purple turd.

Image for Corrupted Youth Podcast's Summer Slasher Camp. It is some worn wood with faded yellow text and pictures. On the top is an arched "summer", below that is a simple skull with an arrow going through it. "slasher camp" is below that and stacked. On each side of the word "camp" there is a simple drawing of a tent, one has a sun above it and the other a crescent moon. At the bottom is a drawing of a canoe with "Corrupted Youth Podcast" written on it.
