One who is much delighted in good company.
Born last millennium
and died several times since.
I'm in a lot of smart home forums and all these bros are reprogramming their Alexa and Google Mini to respond to "Hey Jarvis", and I'm over here mapping the phonemes for "Showtime, Synergy!"

We've been thinking that the data center boom is being driven by a few voracious, greedy geek billionaires, but what if it's actually nascent AI manipulating markets and companies behind the scenes to feather its nest, so to speak, and bring about the singularity?

Inside Out. The protagonist demonstrates up front that her hero's quest is unnecessary and the premise is harmfully reductive.
Whats a movie everyone fucking loves that you despise?
It doesnt have to be objectively bad, you just objectively DID NOT.
Heres one for me since Ive been on a Barbara Loden kick lately-

A lot of white people who believe they are the master race seem very intent upon destroying the environment, leading to heat and sun indexes that they are racially less likely to survive due to the generic disadvantage of their low melanin counts.

It is ridiculous that "How Soon Is Now", the ultimate shy youth loneliness anthem, was used on the soundtrack of The Craft, and that Charmed used it as its theme song as a result.

I will never use a social media platform or app or API that makes it difficult to pick up where I left off and read every post from those I follow in chronological order. I don't want new or shiny, I want confidence that I'm not missing anything.

The priest cited an Arab proverb: "You forget those with whom you laughed, but you will never forget those with whom you wept." Trauma bonding is a thing, yes, but exalting it should be antithetical to Catholic theology. If the News is Good then shouldn't you bond in joy?

It's wild that Jesus doubled down on eating flesh and drinking blood, pretty much the most taboo place he could have gone. Sadly, Christian Nationalist edgelords would probably equate that with "owning the libs" rather than questioning sacred cows.

Twenty years ago you never could have called a show "From", it would have been completely unsearchable. Now I can Google "guy from from" and it knows I mean Harold Perrineau.

There is a bike lane wide enough to drive a bus down but all the bikers are on the sidewalk trying to run me over.

Freshman spring break beach trip, in search of greater neck-up sun protection, I found a discarded wicker bucket hat. Days later I saw a bunch of them at DQ, inverted, holding flower pots. I spray painted mine chrome and wore it anywhere sunny for the next 4 years.

Some days everything's on fire and there's no winning, only surviving long enough to take a walk and hopefully start working toward finding respite.

Team work makes the dream work but wife work makes the life work. (By which I mean putting in the work to support your spouse, not putting them to work!)

It's kind of weird how on one side you have a ton of antagonists from Scooby-Doo and Batman and Minecraft and the like, and then on the other you have a basically immortal serial killer franchise. Which you think of first when someone references The Creeper says a lot.

Yesterday it was cold and rainy. The waterpark was empty so I put on my wetsuit and went down the Master-Blaster.

Once upon a time in the 90s, Barnes & Noble's had a software section run by Babbage's, a mall chain that sold software and computer extras. My first day I ran out of the store with the register drawer to try to catch my manager leaving because the drawer wouldn't close.

It would be really crazy if, after these last several years, I found out that I have developed heart problems not anxiety.
