Current reporting across the piece on these donations is making my head spin. Are journos not reading anything anymore? Reporting that the Government is suddenly looking at changing the laws it's passing to stop these donations. It's not! It's been in the Bill since Rycroft earlier in the year...

Oh, nice, we’ll just be handing tech firms a bit more freedom to do exactly what they want with our data. What could possibly go wrong?

Also, one small point: if we substantially diverge from EU data-protection standards, the big win for small businesses wouldn’t be “freedom from red tape”.
