Animals of Farthing Wood. Owl gets encased in cement, and stays that way. For FOUR EPISODES. Sheer horror. The stuff of nightmares even now. Bleak. Terrifying. 90s kids TV.

Really fun, silly #SNLUK tonight with two excellent sketches - ‘Fashion Sense and Sensibility’ and ‘One Show Worm’ - both mainly because of Fouracres brilliance (plus accents). He is the best. Some great Weekend Update moments too. I’ll miss it next week!

“AI is the technofascist replacement for life, stripped of the qualities that make it worth living: love, imagination, curiosity, the natural world.”

One of many excellent parts of this article.
Hallucinating AI robots wrote an article in one of the largest English papers in the world saying I quit writing to become a gardener. I did not! Instead, I wrote about them. Read on: sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/i-wandered...

#EdinburghFringe recommendation! @pierrenovellie.bsky.social’s new show ‘Okay, One More Then Bedtime’ is excellent.

I would also recommend his book ‘Why Can’t I Enjoy Things? A Comedian’s Guide to Autism’, which you can get here:

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions.

Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

The last two episodes of #TheBear are exceptional. Episode 7 might be one of my all-time favourite eps of TV; the finale broke and mended my heart repeatedly. There’s one line that Ibra says in the finale that made me gasp out loud and immediately start crying. It’s all so, so good.

Sad news to wake up to about Sam Neill. Jurassic Park was the big one for me, but he was fantastic in Hunt For The Wilderpeople, and a film called Dean Spanley which I loved. Posting about it on Twitter resulted in
Sam following me on there. That was a claim to fame for a while! He’ll be a big miss

Ugh. So you know how people moved over to here when Twitter became a wasteland? What’s the search engine equivalent of Bluesky please?

Not my favourite #SNLUK ep (that’s still the Riz Ahmed one) but still two great sketches (Theroux and The Mining Incident).

I’ve really enjoyed SNL UK. It’s been consistently funny, every episode has had at least one genuinely great moment, and the cast are true stars. Can’t wait for series 2.
