cartoons are the only movies saying something
Also it's about a mega corporation cloaked in patriotism intentionally taking advantage of a vulnerable minority, justifying the pain they go through because it benefits middle class america and corporate profits, and the courts and government both broadly agree with and protect that corporation.

The only responsible attitude for liberals and progressives to align on is that all right-wing grievances, claims and believes are not only false, but malicious lies. Nothing passes the mouth of an American conservative in public life that is not meant to harm and destroy the lives of millions.

Doing what is only proper at 2:30AM in the waning days of summer: installing Linux.

I now summon the ghost laborers of 1000 engineers, interns, and grad students to make this tiny Wyse 3040 tame my dumb printer and make it available on the network!

It was not a glacier collapse. It was a very large bedrock landslide failure that dragged a piece of glacier with it. Not at all the same thing. Unfortunately the media and Blueskiers have caught the phrase “glacial/glacier collapse” and keep repeating it despite our efforts to correct them.
The glacial collapse and deluge in Nepal and Tibet was not a freak weather event; it was the structural failure of a mountain itself, nature’s latest commentary on the deadly consequences of human-caused planetary warming. - @michaelemann.bsky.social

As a connoisseur of Route 66 kitsch, this stuff would have fit right in on that road. What a delight!
ICYMI: Japan's roadside sex museums (秘宝館) once drew busloads of onsen tourists. Today nearly all are gone, but one Tokyo bar-museum keeps the kitschy, erotic art form alive and open to visitors.

Learn more about the hihōkan, the erotic museums where drunken salarymen used to while away their time before dinner.

As somebody who grew up during the era in which there was a massive public push to reduce teen pregnancy, it’s absolutely wild to me to see people on Fox News now complaining that not enough teens are getting pregnant.
Fox News complains that underage teenage girls aren’t getting pregnant enough:

“The problem is teens and young adults. From ages 15-19, the fertility rate is down 70% in the last 2 decades, which means we are telling people who are young not to have babies.”

For the people and bots reading this without context: it is not necessarily good news that the best open model has been jailbroken and will happily conduct offensive cyberattacks, and that inference is being hosted by a company that keeps no records of how you use their system.

Having bought two EVs and a hybrid, I think a big part of America’s sloth in adopt adopting EVs is car dealerships’ management being heavily Republican, and having a business model that relies on repairs that EV‘s don’t need.
