The correct way look interpret a site like IGN giving six 10s in a year – no two of which are in the same genre or written by the same person – is that it's a sign that it's been a strong year for games.

This really is the end of an era. IGN will be a very different place without Max and Brian making people laugh, both externally and internally. It's impossible to fake the kind of fun, friendly clubhouse atmosphere these guys brought for their entire runs.
Welp. Starting in November, I will no longer be employed by IGN. It's been a hell of a ride and I cannot understate how much of an honor and a privilege the last 11+ years have been. This was a dream job, but the best part of IGN is, was, and always will be the people.

Good lord. It's only been 14 months since the last major round of layoffs.

Steam Frame sounds nice and all but I already have a Quest 3 I've barely used lately so I can't really justify that one. Especially since I've already rationalized buying a Steam Machine (if they'll let me).

Seems like Blizzard should make a StarCraft TV show/movie to tide us over and keep the brand relevant for the four years until this new game of theirs is ready.

Very late to the party but: I finally got around to starting Shrinking season 3 and that premiere was a dramady masterpiece. A spectacular script performed by a top-tier cast with the absolute best comic timing and emotion.

Almost exactly a year ago my brother gifted me an Oura Ring 4 for my birthday. Now they're sending me a replacement because the battery life went from a week and a half on a charge down to a day and a half.
Kudos for making the replacement process smooth, at least!

Hearing that Wolverine isn't blowing a lot of reviewers away is disappointing, but this not being a best-case scenario doesn't change my mind about playing it. It just recalibrates my expectations, which is a good thing.

I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more marketing stuff like this. Maybe it only really makes sense with a huge game with cross-platform mods, but letting people add your products to their games seems like a no-brainer.

I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more marketing stuff like this. Maybe it only really makes sense with a huge game with cross-platform mods, but letting people add your products to their games seems like a no-brainer.
Just beat my hard mode run of Zero Company. Still didn't lose anybody*, and I beat the final boss in one turn by bombarding with flame grenades and focusing fire, ignoring minions. Also, I used only pistols and lightsabers for the whole run.
Might not roll directly into expert, but maybe later.
