not sure if anyone noticed this, but Zohran Mamdani’s new PIT crew is specifically hiring for candidates with agentic coding experience — we need more leftists leveraging AI for the public good, so this is encouraging to see!

In fifth grade my teacher had us write steps to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then executed each instruction literally while we all laughed our heads off.

Bluesky has a lot of the anxious left who feel compelled to immediately steer every discussion toward a familiar story in which they have a moral high ground.
AI presents new problems and we should discuss them rather than turn it into another topic the pure of heart must flee.

I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Bluesky should have been called Xodus
Stood on a highway overpass in West St Paul for about an hour on Sunday. We got so many types of honks and waves. We also got a few birds. In an hour I counted 39 individual birds from 28 bird cars. One driver flipped two and veered out of his lane.

So much solidarity among a lot of folks in the cities. I chatted with three friends yesterday, none of whom know each other: two in outer burbs, one here in the city. Delivering groceries, recording raids, joining cash mobs. Not political types, just common sense and a common goal. You can feel it.
