INBOX: Science retracted a news article this week after editors found that the author (likely an AI agent) impersonated the identity of an established science journalist, both with editors and sources in the story.

Furthermore, two of the quotes provided were plagiarized:

Cis folks really don't understand what it's like to have who you are made into a political scape goat for 5 years straight with legislation targeting every aspect of your life. And then, the only political party that pretends to care is slowly being pushed to abandon you as a political albatross.

I dreamed I lost a VIP keynote speaker's hotel room key, creating a slew of problems, but I have questions: Who gave ME the key and why?I'm just a retired teacher lady. Why was it a key, not a card? Where was the hotel staff? Who was running the conference and where were they? I woke up mad, y'all.

Its the hallmark characteristic of this time, they all do immensely corrupt things and don’t care because they’ve been made legal by the leadership of the free world in service of “innovation”

In one of the most important convos I’ve had this year, I talked with Sherry Turkle about how our interactions with AI platforms, simulated companions, and artificial personalities can reshape us, diminish our capacities, and alter our very conceptions of ourselves and what it means to be a person.
Artificial Intimacy Is Changing Who We Are
“We start to judge our human interactions by what the chatbot can deliver,” says author Sherry Turkle.

Two notes here:

1. Hard to convey how unusual it is for an admin to be pitted against this many religious groups in *so many different ways* all at the same time in court.

The Trump admin is an outlier here.

2. I’m a religion reporter, but unclear why this trend hasn’t gotten more attention.

I used to have a lot of faith in Sherrod. But now he's just one of the many people who have shown who they really are over the last few years.
Whelp, this is a pretty gross ad from Brown. It would have been completely fine without the "transgender surgeries for kids are already illegal in Ohio" part.

Notably, that law also bans all gender affirming care for youth, and top surgery for older teens, which sometimes is necessary.

He's turned comments off after getting ratioed.

This is part of a convoluted rant by a 🦋 mod, desperately trying to justify allowing trans hate, but punishing trans people who defend themselves against said hate.

He goes on about how he "calculates" toxicity. "Toxic" is a metaphor in this context.
Let's address a couple of questions here:
1) is this user toxic?
2) are they making a threat sending trans people to camps?
3) how do you address harassment?
4) how does toxicity currently work? How will it work?
Apologies, this should be a blog.
@aaron.bsky.team hi Aaron, sorry to bother you but can you explain why it's not against ToS/Community Guidelines for cis people to threaten trans people with concentration camps? People have been actioned for less than this - why is this not also considered toxic discourse?

The official Bluesky moderation position is that it's ok to threaten trans people in their replies with sending them to concentration camps.
Are they threatening trans users directly? No. Trans folks in the US have been targeted repeatedly. That's awful and you have my sympathy.

Within the context of a single post we wouldn't consider it a direct threat or targeting a protected category. Ie send trans folks to concentration camps.
