Catching measles does not make your immune system stronger… it does the exact opposite.

It can wipe out your immunity (both natural and vaccine related) to all kinds of diseases.

It’s a deadly and disabling disease that we know how to prevent.

Get your vaccine. It saves lives.
Measles doesn't stop harming people when the rash goes away. Measles can damage the immune system, causing "immune amnesia" for up to five years.

Measles outbreaks this year and last could leave thousands vulnerable to other infectious diseases.

This is huge: a judge ruled a Flock search was 'indiscriminate mass surveillance' and unconstitutional. Says the search by a cop, who did it because a passing car had a plate from a different state, violated the driver's rights. Meaning, Flock should require a warrant www.404media.co/federal-judg...

Flock’s nationwide network is quickly “approaching dragnet-type law enforcement practice” and the cop should have got a warrant, the judge wrote.

“Thomas saw an ad offering a $20 cash bonus for the first $10 spent on the prediction market app. He said that's all it took to get hooked.

‘Betting $10 became a couple hundred, and that became a couple hundred more, then thousands more. And before long I was more than $25,000 in the red.’”
Such a depressing read about a man who got in way too deep betting on Kalshi—after voluntarily banning himself from sports betting apps—and how these prediction market apps are ruinous to people with an unhealthy relationship with gambling.
After bankruptcy, he was banned from sports betting sites. Then he discovered Kalshi
The dark side of the prediction market boom is becoming more clear: Experts say the sites have become go-to outlets for gambling addicts to relapse as the companies avoid state consumer protections.

Initial thoughts* on THE SOCIAL RECKONING:

- Aaron Sorkin still writes some of the best dialogue out there.
- Madison and White are very strong.
- Wunmi Mosaku should be in more things, and Betty Gilpin should be in everything.
- The more people who see this film, the better.

JEFFREY DOLLMER.

This is not a joke: it's a real horror/slasher movie about the spirit of Jeffrey Dahmer possessing a killer doll. It's due out on digital platforms and VOD November 3.

No, I'm not linking to the trailer.

Everyone thinks there was no traffic during the 1984 Olympics because everyone left town.

But that's not actually true. 1984's flowing freeways were the result of unprecedented regional coordination. We have a narrowing window to implement these changes again — and this time actually keep them
There will be a lot of things to worry about in the summer of 2028. The transportation demand management plan is not one of them.

I got an inside look at SCAG's thoughtful strategy to update what already worked well in 1984 and leave behind a better connected and more multimodal region
Here's what the Olympics will actually do to your commute

Thread.

It’s every day for most women, guys.
I got called a cunt today, on the sidewalk in front of my house, for the crime of daring to talk to a bus driver who was blocking traffic. He got out of his car to start toward us and I hustled everyone inside mid conversation.

My daughter got up from bed to make sure the door was locked tonight.
Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.
