They showed a Modelo ad earlier in the Beavers' game that featured a bunch of cheering Ducks fans which was a weird choice to begin with but hilarious considering how that game went.

We've got a neighborhood picnic coming up, so I asked Google's AI for some suggestions. This potluck is going to be one to remember!

And as is usually the course for this dude, once he stirs up enough drama and it makes the tech news, he shows up in the reddit posts on /r/wordpress to continue his shitty behavior in ways that must make his attorneys lose their minds.

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I think all the fiddling with the clock in the final seconds makes the ending of football and basketball games annoying. But overturning a result a week after the game ends will be a huge pain for the sports bookies, so we should do it more often.
WOW. New statement from MAC commissioner Jon Steinbrecher that says "replay protocol was nor properly followed" and that the MAC is formally appealing the result of the Michigan-WMU game.

I cannot wait for this movie to come out! This preview is hilariously weird.

Some lady gave our client a 1-star review because the bartender was wearing an Oregon Ducks shirt. "he can keep his loyalty to himself, this is not OK in a Corvallis bar" Thanks Carol. 😂

It's not a good sign when "The Economist" is suddenly unsure what happens to energy prices when demand increases.
Without exception, when you reach the part in these now consistently identical articles where they actually try to substantiate this idea opposition is a "moral panic", they turn to sloppy, meaningless, false and unferenced claims, regurgitating Masley posts and other half-arsed brain farts

In my mind an ideology is mostly just an outlook on how a community or the world could be a better place. In that sense, charities aren't "captured by ideology." Giving to charity is just one way to budget your wealth according to your values. But that assumes you want the world to be better.

I get a bunch of spam by phone and email wanting to buy or fund my business, much of it pretending to be "following up" on some discussion that never happened. It's annoying, and if we had a functioning government the FTC would work a little harder to stop it.

Cancelling HBO is easy!
We’re in bad shape. One of the major streamers is going all in on a show based on books from one of the most outspoken transphobes today.

The promotion includes new toys and branded notebooks, backpacks, etc.

Rowling’s bigotry hasn’t affected her marketability.

It it were any other population…

I'd put "went evil" instead of "insane" bc plenty of insane folks are out there pointedly not destroying all of society. But yeah.
I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

Septembeerfest in Corvallis is so awesome. We don't have a homebrew supply store anymore, but this town still has a phenomenal brewing culture.

There's a little library in our neighborhood and someone just crammed it full of books with no regard to whether you could see the titles, a complete mess.. I was annoyed at whoever could defile a library that way, but the contributions included Jose Saramago and Chuck Palahniuk so I take it back!

You guys, please watch this.
The WNBA is having a moment. Viewership is up. Attendance for this year’s WNBA All-Star Game surpassed the NBA’s All-Star Game.

But the stories about the WNBA capturing national attention in recent weeks are about none of that.

The last 4 years have been such an anomaly that it's hard not to think we've already passed some sort of tipping point with climate change. Even among Democrats, there is so little discussion on this issue. But I have to wonder how long Republicans can continue calling this a hoax.

It seems like philosophy departments have become a dumping ground for right wing shitbags like Nathan Cofnas who have no special intellect, experience or knowledge, but still want to have credibility. He's not a biologist. He's a racist. So he claims 'Philosopher of Biology' as his expertise.
In the wake of Arday's death, Nathan Cofnas (who led the X mob against him) states his motivation. Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.

Observation not evaluation here, but I'm pretty sure there are now more questions on the blood donor questionnaire related to Ebola than Americans who have ever contracted that disease.
