Defending the freedom to read takes more than opposing book bans. It takes library champions on school boards, library boards, city councils, and county commissions.

I asked her how early students start dealing with these issues. 5th grade, she said. You can learn more about them here: www.schoolsconsentproject.com/en-us/home

Until now we were subsidizing Affordable Care Act healthcare plans and investing hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure and manufacturing jobs, but then Americans elected Trump and he pissed all that away.

trump is sending $500 checks to people utilizing the ACA in battleground states with a letter stating that Biden 'overcharged' them through the system.
They're only being sent to swing states.
This is blatant vote purchasing, and not one fucking thing will happen to him over it.

#ICE

Private detention donated $4.5M+ in 2024—93%+ to the GOP.

GEO Group: $3.7M (92% GOP).

CoreCivic: $785K (96% GOP).

Then ICE detention expanded, contracts surged, profits soared.

Follow the money—this isn't policy, it's a return on investment.

Good news: Wilber Garces Perez finally had surgery to remove the bullet that was in his back for 11 days.

It took far too long, and it's more proof of ICE cruelty. But we kept up the pressure, and Wilber got the care he needed.

Speaking up for our neighbors works.

This is such a great story about Michael McDonald and his son that he put up for adoption. Before I even knew who his father was, I said to myself, he looks just like Michael McDonald.

It's as if he is TRYING to lose the midterms.
With historically low approval ratings, it would be wise to avoid the press altogether.
Instead, he gives TIME magazine this bonkers, unhinged & l-e-n-g-t-h-y stream-of consciousness interview, pathologically lying throughout. shorturl.at/PMvVB

The peace Conan describes here is what I find so psychotic about Capitalism: The unnatural systemic need for more, growth, bigger, up, is constantly making people feel - mentally and financially - like where they’re at is not what success looks like, even if it’s exactly what makes them happy.
I think about this interview with the distinguished philosopher Conan O'Brien a lot. I actually think this is a healthy way to live your life! www.nytimes.com/2019/01/14/a...

I’ve been asked to weigh in on the debate over whether to bring an iced coffee to an interview.

It doesn't matter.

Iced coffee is NOT why it's hard to land a job right now, and it's NOT why Gen Z can't get ahead.

Our economy is rigged. We need to change that.
