I've just been discharged from QE II Hospital. I saw first-hand some of the issues we've all heard about. But my overwhelming takeaway is how lucky we are to have a robust free public health system in Australia and great hospital staff from around the world to make it function. We mustn't lose this.

Apparently, according to a newspaper columnist, "woke" is to blame for falling standards in our schools. Does anybody else think the growing incidence of ignorance might have something to do with the media giving oxygen to the anti-science and "do your own research" brigade?

I'm confused. There are many people, even in politics and the media, who will willingly comment on certain cases under police investigation - including those where charges have been laid or court cases are actually underway - but not others. It seems more like a choice than respect for due process.

Kyle Sandilands is absent from his pay-to-hear radio show today. I mentioned this possibility in a recent Mister Brisbane post; but I didn’t think he’d be away sick so soon into a new venture. I’m told his back-up crew are doing a good job but is this what the punters paid for?
