Happy National Poetry Day. My old pal, one-time Totnesian drinking buddy, and book-recommender extraordinaire Alice O'Malley recently published Ecotone, her debut poetry book, and it is absolutely exquisite.

To the surprise of no one, the Embankment Road footbridge is still not open. The council have given up the pretence of claiming an end date, but have put up CCTV, alongside a new sign exclaiming the benefits of the path that's now been closed for over 100 days with no end in sight.

Criminals, cheats, and liars. They've robbed the exchequer, brought the national sport into disrepute, and shown zero remorse. Expel them from the league and wind them up now.
Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC?

We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax.

There should be a criminal investigation.

Finally a rainy Autumnal evening walk. I thought I'd never see the day.

Man City "artificially inflated the club's revenues, and reduced its costs, by more than £900 million during the affected the period, to appear to comply with financial rules."

That's from 2009/10 - 2017/18 alone. What of the hundreds of millions they've spent since?

My first ever proper visit to Tinside (it was closed for my entire childhood, I'm a "learnt to swim at Ballards" Janner) and I got to take Cooper in with me. They have a dog day every year for the final session before closing for winter. Bloody brilliant idea.

Who is this imposter and what has he done with my Bim Pepple?

My mouth went rogue and ate an entire packet of biscuits without my knowledge. I will endeavour to learn lessons from this incident.

Bumped into some of the Burton players on The Hoe this morning. Imagine seeing Plymouth Sound in all its magnificence on a day like today, and then having to go back to living in the Midlands. Those poor, northern bastards. Let's show them no pity. #pafc

I'm a good six months behind the curve, as always, but Spider-Noir is the best comic book anything in ages.

A club guilty of a decade-long scheme to submit false financial information to the league, for the purpose of securing an unfair on-field advantage, should not only be thrown out of the league and have all its titles vacated, its owner should be compelled to sell the club.

The away attendance at Plymouth Argyle vs Crystal Palace U21 in the EFL Trophy this evening appears to be zero. That can't have happened too often.

Because I have nothing better to do, I've been looking into this and have internal council emails confirming that no work order was even in place by 27/08. They currently claim the bridge will reopen on 30/09 but I have very little faith that it will. 95 days and counting with no safe crossing.
Dear Plymouth City Council,

If the need to resurface the only footbridge across Embankment Road for miles is so urgent then how about actually doing the fucking work? It's been 50 days without a safe crossing to Blagdon's Meadow for pedestrians and I'm fucking tired of it.

Grumble grumble fuck you
