Has there been any research on generational wealth being a form of mental illness?

There is sickness in “everything has a price” that inevitably leads to “so let’s see how far we can take it” that pervades this class.

1. When insiders say there’s a 10% chance of an extinction-level event, maybe that’s a threshold of risk the government should care about

2. The national security argument is bullshit, this is purely about industrial policy.

The long-term impact of this is that Minnesota likely loses a congressional seat after the next census in 2030.
Operation Metro Surge led to over 2,300 immigrants leaving the country, according to updated ICE data from obtained by the Deportation Data Project. The new data includes immigrants deported to Laos and Somalia in the months since the surge.

Random LA observation: some of the best hair stylists in the world live and work here, and yet the number of men who conspicuously signal they have money yet seemingly home-dye with shoe polish is astonishing.

Wait, the channel that airs Ridiculousness 24x7x365 still hands out Video Music Awards?

Also, this graphic highlights why I never question Haaland when he says he wasn’t offside. His goal to offside ratio is unparalleled among top scorers in the Prem. Haaland is *exceptionally* aware of his position on the pitch.

Statement win by City. This is the type of performance that galvanizes a team with a lot of new parts.

Enzo Fernandez won over any skeptical City fans with his work rate after Foden’s red. Elliot Anderson was fantastic again.

😂 Lyft emailed me bragging that my last ride had a “upgraded, roomier” car.

How roomy was this car?

My left ear was pinned to my left shoulder and my right ear was up against the roof. Not exactly roomy for a 6’2” passenger 😂

To my Spurs friends:

I see you. You are worthy of love.

Most of my naive-LA experience so far has been me looking at people and places, maybe for a tad too long, thinking “why does this feel familiar?”

Except for seeing Pauly Shore and his dog in a beautiful green land-yacht of a convertible. That one I clocked right away. 😂

Corporations that are like “ha ha ha ha ha, AI can do every job better than you!” suddenly can’t figure out how to match credit card receipts to items with tariffs in order to identify actual customers who should get the tariff refunds. Instead they decided to keep the $100 billion for themselves.

The American urge to squeeze a team’s record into the score bug means nothing in soccer because these media-rights nitwits can’t agree on the world football standard W-D-L and instead use a choose-your-own-adventure mix of W-L-D and W-D-L

I love all of my Spurs-supporting friends too much to share the top-tier social media content about their goalless start to the Prem season.

I love the rest of you too much not to let you know that this content is easy enough to find if you haven’t seen it already.

Sometimes I think Alexander Pope’s An Essay on Critiscism reads like someone’s tweet stream today. But Pope shows the value of rigorously posting to drafts first before deciding to tweet.

Sometimes I don’t think of patience as a virtue. Sometimes patience feels like the measure of how much pain you’ve already endured in order to endure whatever this is right now.

I’m listening to Tom Perry’s Full Moon Fever on vinyl for the first time. I gotta say, I kinda miss the tongue-in-cheek “Hello CD listeners” interlude after Runnin’ Down A Dream

Unusual ICE Air flight at MSP today - it brought detainees into Minnesota.

Saw this a few times during Metro Surge, but, those were generally people coming back home to MN. This is different - these are detainees getting shuffled out of Pennsylvania.

If my personal experience with the US Postal Service over the past 18 months is any sort of bellwether, expect Olathe KS levels of “efficiency” with Trump’s attempted USPS takeover of mail voting. IYKYK
