We’re challenging federal funding cuts to Oregon’s unemployment insurance system and fraud detection.

This matters to Oregon families: if an Oregon worker was just laid off, they need to receive benefits on time so they can pay rent and buy groceries while looking for their next job.

For some seeking local elected office, it may be their first time running - but that doesn't mean they aren't bringing a lifetime of experience, like Amy Sabbadini running for Deschutes county commission:

I don’t knock The Source for endorsing my opponent or for being critical of me — I’m running for office and expect to be run through the wringer. What disappoints […]

Throughout my entire career, I’ve asked the same question: Will this make life better for Oregonians

That’s why I’ve fought for higher wages, paid family leave, housing, education, and health care, and why I will continue to defend our state from federal overreach.

One of our debate questions was whether we should expand our urban growth boundary right now. Here's an adorable reason why we should avoid sprawl and only expand after we've exhausted all our options to plan to build homes and jobs within our city first.
I was out poking around off NF-4606 near Tumalo Creek when this guy popped up. Friends say it's a pine marten. Cute and definitely concerned with me encroaching on marten territory. The second two photos were from close range so it felt confident in its ability to quickly retreat into the rocks.

Lots of talk last night about how we have an 8% vacancy rate for apts. That's healthy! Landlords have to compete which drives down rent for tenants.

Adjusted for inflation, our average rent is *down* compared to 2021. Building more supply works.
San Francisco's multifamily vacancy is just over 2%, per ApartmentList.

With so few homes open, one manager says he is booking showings for 75 people and has no time to negotiate rent. Rents are up over 20% in a year.

ICE and Border Patrol agents are terrorizing our friends and neighbors. Trump’s lawless federal agents trampling due process is completely wrong. These are not Oregon—or American—values.l

Learned today the local realtors PAC has given my opponent, who didn't show up to the housing forum and says "no one wants to live in high density apartments" a $10k donation. 👀

Your grassroots support matters! Our avg donation is under $200. Can you pitch in now to help me finish strong on Nov 3?
It's official: I’m seeking another term to provide tested and trusted leadership in this pivotal moment. I hope you'll support my campaign so we can keep building a thriving city that’s safe, inclusive, and affordable for everyone.

No one should ever have to face their hardest moment alone.

So I fought hard to bring back nationwide crisis support for LGBTQ+ youth that the Trump administration cut.

Having someone at the other end of the line matters.

Good concrete example of the benefit of having a Democratic governor under Trump
Trump refused to pay for SNAP benefits during the federal shutdown last year, cutting off food assistance for 750,000 Oregonians. I declared a hunger emergency, and @danrayfield.bsky.social and I took him to court and won. Benefits were back in people’s hands that night.

The Trump administration will start selecting lawyers for unaccompanied minors. Meaning the judges work for Donald Trump, the prosecutors work for Trump, and now the attorneys representing children will work for Trump. This is a rigged system that will result in more untold horrors for these kids.
