like honestly no I don't think all art "deserves" to exist. If art pushes hateful ideas I do believe it would've been better Not Made. But the government shouldn't have anything to do with it and you can't put the toothpaste back in, it's not like the art should be destroyed, so let it be discussed

anti censorship means not censoring criticism either, unless you really wanna be conservative about it. like bigots who cry "free speech" when they're criticized then they try to silence marginalized people who make them uncomfortable. Not all criticism is a call for government censorship

Like why am I seeing more people apologetic for being fed up with racism than people who treat people who look like me as an animal in their porn. why is the culture so afraid of criticism we have to bend over backwards to validate the people dehumanizing us before our voices are worth listening to.

the irony is many people who claim to be anti censorship have just enabled a different type of censorship (which disproportionately affects marginalized people) because poc in these spaces can't even criticize racism in fiction/kink without 50 disclaimers about how all art is allowed to exist

How can someone pride themself on radically depicting taboo topics and owning the puritans when they fundamentally don't understand consent or respect survivors and their art very directly demonstrates their ignorance. it's almost like our art and how we frame it reflects our beliefs huh

the way I've seen the term "dubcon" get used often shows people just don't take rape seriously and will downplay it by using "softer" terms, implicitly invalidating survivors who experienced the form of rape they depicted. anybody who uses terms like "soft/hard noncon" cannot be trusted
