DoorDash walked into a buzzsaw of criticism and boycotts in D.C. this summer when it backed a Republican bill that would restrict when city lawmakers can impose new taxes and fees.

The delivery company is now walking back that bill: www.washingtonsun.com/metro/doorda...

One of my most galaxy-brained takes is that politicians and political groups should talk more about workers’ share of national income.

It's one of the clearest, simplest ways to describe how billionaires and corporate elites captured so much of the economy--and something policy can change.

So much respect for @nhannahjones.bsky.social for writing this and so vulnerably sharing your grappling process. As James Baldwin said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
“A decade ago, I made a decision about my daughter’s education that I hoped would challenge New York City’s separate and unequal school system,” Nikole Hannah-Jones writes. “Now 16, she thinks I made the wrong choice.”

Can’t stop thinking about this quote from Susan Neiman in @michellegoldberg.bsky.social’s recent NYT piece: “When self-interest becomes the basis of reason, evil no longer needs to justify itself. It’s already been mistaken for rationality.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/14/o...

Instead, it will worsen our housing shortage — pushing families out, draining revenue from our city, and emptying out storefronts.

Our communities will pay a visible price.
