Some people complain that they do not think military history is popular; We LOVE it at TTU. We are hiring TT in US War and Society Pre-1945
We are also hiring modern South/Southeast Asia and Medieval Europe.

Last month, the Pentagon fired the publisher and editor-in-chief of Stars and Stripes. Two opposite headlines this morning show the results were swift.

Tough problem to solve, too. Sink $400 million (must be way more than that) & accept that Iran could just whack it again. Fall back to Diego Garcia (like now) & accept the distance penalty. Maybe scatter to Oman (Salalah, Duqm) or UAE but still vulnerable + inefficient. No one site replaces Bahrain

If you're lucky, someone will eventually review your book in a way that almost makes you jealous of their insights into the material. It's fair to say that the historian Gabe Winant has just published that review of my book. dissentmagazine.org/article/muti...

Noam Scheiber’s Mutiny shows that the labor organizing of the radicalized PMC is far more than a fit of whimsical proletarian roleplay.

Could be some complications with doing ‘Venezuela’ in Iran.

Anyway, sure am glad the ‘President of Peace’ is steering clear of forever wars.

TIL the man chiefly responsible for all firefighting efforts across the UK during World War II was named Aylmer Firebrace

(He gave quite a lecture in 1943 to the American chemists developing new incendiary weapons on fire's "obliterating capacities")

The Pentagon is introducing a Western civilization course in its military-family schools that emphasizes Christianity and classical education.

The move is part of Pete Hegseth’s broader push to make the roughly 160 Pentagon-run schools more patriotic and classically oriented.
