Rainy season sunset during golden hour at Thulusdhoo Beach shoreline. The white sand and lagoon water catch the sun’s golden glow, while the sea’s turquoise remains partly visible. Beyond the lagoon, waves breaking on the reef form a mist layer toward the left mid-frame. The island shown is Adhaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi resort. Dark, stormy clouds fill the sky, allowing golden tones from the setting sun to break through.

Morning at Thulusdhoo Beach. Standing at the shoreline and looking out at the lagoon and the sea beyond. The bottom half of the frame is the white sandy beach and the light turquoise waters of the lagoon. From the horizon up, the whole sky is covered by huge storm clouds. The clouds are dark and low, with the winds bringing them towards the land. In the mid-frame, you can see the rain lashing down onto the ocean surface in the distance.

Morning in Thulusdhoo, Maldives. Looking out from the top of Seasons Paradise Hotel towards the Fishing Jetty below. Construction rebar, coconut trees, and other plants frame the turquoise blue lagoon. There is a small local fishing boat anchored next to the shallow part of the lagoon and the protruding sea wall. The Fishing Jetty sticks out from the turquoise part of the lagoon to the really deep coral drop-off to the deep blue ocean. There is a group of fishermen at the end of the jetty. A bit further, there is a boat passing the shallow corals in the middle of the sea. The rest of the frame is the lighter blue of the sky with light, silky clouds dominating the sky. The fishing here is abundant with huge reef fish and passing oceanic fish up for grabs. That is, if you can avoid the huge sharks around the reef drop-off when reeling them in. Especially the Tiger Sharks.

Sunrise at Cokes Surf Break reveals the sun rising behind the nearby resort. A boat, likely fishing or on a sunrise cruise, moves through the channel between the two islands. At the bottom of the frame, foamy waves touch the shore, tinted blue by the sky’s light. Beyond them, the sea turns golden as the sun emerges above the horizon. Low-lying clouds appear grey and stormy, while the sky above glows with a band of gold.

Sunset Golden Hour at Thulusdhoo Fishing Jetty looks toward the lagoon entrance through the reef. Three posts rising from the sea mark the passage. A liveaboard safari yacht anchors just beyond, with a smaller dive boat beside it. Toward the right, a smaller vessel sails on a sunset cruise. The sea reflects a purplish sky and a hint of red from the setting sun. Clouds fill the sky at every level. The light shifts from gold to yellow to light blue and purple as it rises, with red streaks in lighter clouds from the sun’s rays.

Sunrise Golden Hour at Coke’s Beach, Thulusdhoo. The sea is bathed in the blue light of the pre-dawn sun, and the sea wall and the resort beyond it are in silhouette. The sky at the horizon is covered by a horizontal cloud bank. And above it is the golden glow of the just-about-to-rise sun. The gold fades into yellow and mixes into the blue of the higher sky. Thulusdhoo Beach at late morning. The shoreline stretches out, offering a breathtaking view of a very blue day. The light turquoise color near the shoreline gradually deepens until it reaches the inner reef. Then, a darker blue hue envelops the outer reef, and beyond that lies the mesmerizing blue of the deep sea. The sky itself is a brilliant light blue near the horizon, gradually darkening as it ascends. However, a band of wispy white clouds graces the mid-sky, adding a touch of contrast.
