September 27 and I haven't turned on the furnace yet.. last year was October 1st.. Forecast looks decent enough to make it farther into October this year.. especially in this house, where the furnace is fuel oil burning.. that shit's gonna be expensive!

Dad was a drunk.. didn't know him after 7th grade, but he did make "camp chow" which is simply pork and beans, bacon, and onion (and black pepper, lots of black pepper).. I add some ketchup and BBQ sauce also .. at least he kept me sober for 52 years now!
