I live in a small community, less than 50 homes, and there are three veterans among us. One of them, a Gold Star family, lives next door. Along with the third and myself, we are all flying our American flags in distress. Non-veterans don’t get it.

I really suck at writing < 160 word bits that can’t be edited after posting. I suck writing larger pieces too, but the short format really puts the microscope on the magnitude of my faults. I envy folks who just roll it out and tell it like it is in one sentence.

Is it just me, having various ink pens lying around to write with, that finds more often than not, the pen is dried out? Is this a covert, planned obsolescence scheme by writing instrument manufacturers? Or, is the simple matter I am writing a whole lot less with paper and pen than I used to? #sad
