It’s my understanding as a light and late diagnosis autistic person. The thing I thought was distant observer and standing off from every negotiation of social interaction was the right thing to do.

It’s difficult to negotiate how to respect people who are autistic, especially if you think you might be autistic yourself:. I think you are like the doctor is meant as a compliment.

Growing up with undiagnosed spectator syndrome was weekly, Saturdaily vouschafed by doctor who. The distant observer of humanity as an alien was deeply affirming.
